Creative Self-portrait

Image
My creative self portrait shows me in plant park by the river. I really like this photo of me. I have a big smile on my face that represents how I feel about being in Tampa. I like how the city is in the background because I absolutely love the city. I love the scenery I think it is very pretty. This photo was taken on a really sunny hot day, and one of my favorite things about being in Tampa is the sun. I edited the background of my portrait in photoshop. I wanted to change the colors of the background and make them vibrant. I made the background look sort of euphoric to symbolize the excitement Tampa gives off. I also wanted the background to look kind of foreign because I am still discovering Tampa and everything is still very new to me. The background sort of looks hazy, representing how sometimes this place feels like a dream. It shows that so many things are going on around me.

Title: Social disguise My photograph shows the same girl. On one side of the photo the girl is upset, stressed, and drained. On the other side the girl is all done up and appears happy. This photo represents the truth behind social media. On social media everyone puts on a sort of perfect appearance but that is not reality.

My composition is an array of flowers that i have formed to look like a face. I started doodling and the idea of it just sort of came to me. At first I put a rainbow background around the face but I ended up hating it so I cut the "face" part out and put it on a solid background so it wasn't so busy. My abstract drawing has a repetition of flowers. The pattern of my drawing is flowers. The flowers all are unified together because they are in the shape of a face and different facial features. I used color to show the shape and features of the face. If I made the flowers all the same color you would not be able to see the face. I also used small dots to fill in some of the white space. I used a combination of colored pencil, crayon, and markers. I actually really like the way it turned out.
